As I was approached to write the Open Professional Latin report for Embassy Ball I asked myself the question – “Would it be different to write from the perspective of a judge that judged the event and not an observer of the competition?” And so the answer was revealed to me by writing my thoughts now.

It was an unprecedented finish to the WDC World Professional 10 Dance Championships at the Grand National’s on Key Biscayne, FL.

Smooth Ball!

It was a Smooth Ball at the Chicago Harvest Moon Ball last night at it was all about the Professional Rising Stars and the Showdance couples, but in the Rising Star Smooth we had the most couples with a full quarter-final round making an incredible showing for Smooth dancing and a very entertaining evening for the audience.

Honoring the Greats!

Last night we had the honor of being able to truly “Honor” one of America’s most prestigious couples in our industry, Mr. and Mrs. McDonald at the DBDC.

New Champions Crowned! Again!

Last night at the US Championships, new champions were crowned in the Professional American Smooth division.

Open Professional Latin – Desert Classic 2016

The Professional Latin was the highlight of the evening. After an exciting final the winners were Justinas Duknauskas & Anna Kovalova. They dominated the final with their performance and left little doubt that they would win. Anna uses her feet beautifully with a superb leg action.

Boston Ready to Host World Championships: Columbus Day Weekend 2016

Boston, MA – Since the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has approved bids from competition organizers in Boston, MA to host the World Championships of Standard and 10-Dance in the Senior 1 (35 years and older) categories on October 8-9, 2016 at the American DanceSport Festival (ADSF),  the ADSF organizing committee has been working tirelessly to prepare for this historical event.

Over 1,000 competitors are projected to participate in this 2-day competition. These competitors will include the top dancers from the United States, as well as myriad of international top dancers including current world champions.
